ARMY MEN-THE OFFICIAL RULES
Starting
-create an area that is big enough to throw a rock from one side to the other
-Put a ½ way line that is clearly visible
-take anything that is out of scale to the men-large rocks/sticks etc out of the area
-Count off men/vehicles so that teams have the exact same amount of each

Placement
-vehicles can only be placed on ground level
-airport consists of a flag (or 6” stick) vehicle and a landing strip
CAN GO IN TRECHES IF
-aiming a weapon (barrel must be clear of any cover)
-two hands on a weapon
MUST GO IN THE OPEN
-one hand on weapon
-lying down
-minesweeper (first 1’ of ½ line)

Game Play
-Teams take turns throwing a baseball sized rock
-paper rock scissors decides who throws first
-you throw from your airport until the airport is taken out, then throw from the back line
-when you go to collect the thrown rock from your side you also collect the dead from that round then tell the other side how many were lost
-if you have a surviving airport you can call surveillance round where instead of throwing you walk around the outside line and can look at the other teams side

Death
-always the call of the defender if it’s a kill or not
-if a man is knocked over
-buried above the waist line
-for vehicles they must be flipped onto their side or back to be counted as dead

Defensive Measures
-trenches and hills may be made as long as they are not deeper/higher than one man
-there may not be any sticks thicker or longer than your pinky in the area
-you may build trench covers and walls out of sticks
-camouflage is allowed with the pinky rules applied

Points
-points are counted up at the end by retrieving all of your still alive players

• 1 POINT
Men, Fence sections, Sandbag sections
• 3 POINTS
Artillery, Small vehicles
• 5 POINTS
Large Jeeps, Large Tanks, Surviving Airport

My wife and I made a similar game where we used a large bouncy ball. One could break it up into as many teams as they like (generally four or two) and the ball had to bounce twice before hitting the other teams base. Toilet paper rolls and sour creme lids helped as participants got to build their base and hide their men before the game started. Makes a great indoor activity.
