Day 1 Bible Study: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” – Colossians 2:23&24
Leatherwork takes a lot of work and time. You need to strive for excellence in your projects by taking the time and effort to complete them. Just as you would strive to do your projects well, God wants you to work hard at serving the Lord because he has so many great things in store for us.
(0-15) Introduction to yourself and to the campers.
Explain the basics of leatherwork.
-Show examples of what can be done if done well
-Explain wetting the leather before stamping. This will soften the leather and allow for a deeper and better imprint of the stamp.
-Demonstrate how to use the punches properly and carefully
-Show different tools used for bordering and imprinting deeper
Hand out pieces of practice leather for the kids to practice on. Help where needed.
(15-45) Hand out Bookmarks to the kids.
Work on borders today, get them to use the smaller tools to create two or three borders on each side of the project. A good border has lots of small stamps very close together. Fill the middle empty space with their initials or some picture stamps.
(45-60) Have the kids help clean up and finish up their bookmarks. If they want to practice more that is ok. WHEN CLEANING UP EVERY HOLE SHOULD BE FILLED WITH THE TOOLS. IF THERE ARE EMPTY SPOTS YOU NEED TO LOOK AROUND FOR MISSING STAMPS.

It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” – Colossians 2:23&24
Focus on the fact that Even though Jesus wants us to work hard at serving him, we still need a relationship with him to be saved. Not by works!
(0-15) Get out all tools if not already out and set up. Make sure each kid has a hammer.
Hand out Key fobs (just the leather part, you keep the rings and rivets or they will get lost)
Explain the importance of taking your time and making sure they do detail.
Show examples if available and let them go!
(15-60) Working on key rings. If they still have book marks they can finish those as well.
Attach key rings and rivets when finished stamping.
Make sure they help clean up

Day 3 Bible Lesson:
“We are the clay, You are the potter; we are all the works of your hand.” – Isaiah 64:8
Explain that God is the ultimate creator and we are just his clay waiting to be formed into the person that He wants us to be. Just like He created us he gave us the ability to create things as well.
(0-15) Have the tools and stamps set up. Hand out hammers and explain next project.
Change Purses/Bags (in case boys don’t like the name purse)
