Why do we run camp?
Discussion Time
Philosophy of Program-
to create a safe and fun place that facilitates a fertile environment for one on one relationships. In those relationships that the Gospel message is given.
What is my job as the program director?
REPONSE TIME
-My job as a Program organizer is to make your job as a Cabin Leader easier.
What is your job?
RESPONSE TIME
-Ensure the safety of kids-physical, emotional, spiritual
How do you do that?
-get a pulse of where they are spiritually?
-introduce them to Jesus
-Create memories
What makes your job harder or what kind of things happened last year that made your job more difficult or made you distracted?
RESPONSE TIME
-making sure that there aren’t any gaps that you have to unexpectedly fill
-making sure that games and facility are run well and safe so that you can focus on your kids
-Camp mission statement is followed
-Giving you the materials either physical or wisdom to raise the quality of camp for kids.
What gets the most time
Skills-3 hours a day
Bible Teaching-2 hours a day, bible study in cabins and chapel times
Free time- you have ½ of it off to chase down campers for 1 on 1s
Cabin time-1 hour plus camp out
Why we do what we do. Go through the power point
FIRST DAY-unity, setting up boundaries, setting up your leadership
Supper in rose bowl-to get your cabin eating together, unity, eating outside is fun
Low ropes-unity, camper personalities come out, gives you a great pulse on your cabin
