I am doing carnival this year and am looking for a list of games or other ideas that you have done at your camps. I was also thinking of making it as a competition between the different teams. In the past we have given each kid 4 tickets to start the carnival.
This was our intermediate aged run on for the longer camps. The best joke that never made it in there was patches comes out wearing a t-shirt with a huge hole in the middle front and back like a cannon ball has shot right through it. One character asks him where he got the t-shirt from, patches replies it's from my brother. Captian replies "looks like you need a new t-shirt", patches responds "and a new brother"

Our lesson plans are broken up into junior and intermediates. This year we bought woodburing kits from Walmart for about $15 a piece. They come with a good variaty of tips and they lasted us really well. Just make sure that you teach campers not to push hard when buring as this bends the tips. This also means that we still have all the stuff to do woodburning this next year and our budget get's to be used for even better crafts. COMMENTS WELCOME

Grid Wars-create a giant grid with enough spots for 3/4 of the people you have that you have. Sides start with reinforcements behind the grid line. Reinforcements move into any spot on the back line. I got sick of those online job search engines that demand $400 just so you can look at a resume, so I built my own. www.discoveryourministry.com . Check it out, sign up and then let me know that you heard about it from me here and I will credit your account with a bunch of free job postings. The site is brand new and does not get a lot of publicity yet, but I am hoping that it will help camps and churches in the future find great missionaries! Is there a good site you know ...

This doesn't really fit in the forums below so I will put it here! (hahaha)...anyways... I am in the process of looking for a good program for training my maintenance guy how to fix bikes. Really simple stuff, but everything we do these days has to come with a piece of paper or if it doesn't it will have to soon. Do you know of any good crash course bike repair courses? I'm in Manitoba, but I am sure most programs run national or they would know someone who does it in a different province.

They have worked pretty good but have since been shot out and we cannot find replacement parts for them. My question is what pellet guns has your camp used, how have they worked for you, do you have a gun you would suggest?

This is a cut and paste from when we first started to use low ropes.

Ropes Course

The ropes course is set up as a great tool for Leaders to get to know their cabin. There is a trick to most elements that make them much easier to do and it is a great test to see what kids will figure it out first, which kids lead, follow, or completely don’t care. This will give leaders a great pulse on their cabin and helps build cabin unity.
