Water Slide
Standard Operating Procedure

The Water Slide has the potential to cause injury. Because of this, NLBC will train volunteers to follow the procedure outlined below.

1. Get permission from the Lifeguard to open the waterslide.

2. Turn pump on (switch is in Lifeguard room in Waterfront Lodge).

3. Check to see that the ‘bridge’ is secured in the upright position.

4. Check to see that the area at the bottom of the slide is free of debris or other hazards (boats / campers, etc.).

5. Only the Supervisor and 1 participant may be on the platform. All others must wait on the ground.

6. Participants must go down feet first, sitting or on their back.

7. Keep arms / legs inside the slide at all times.

8. Only one participant on the slide at a time. Be sure the ‘landing zone’ is clear before you send the next participant.

9. DO NOT force a camper to do this or any activity at camp.

Use of the Waterslide is
‘Challenge By Choice’.
